Overnight on 28–29 September 2026, about ten minutes after the Israeli army escorted the displaced Tubasi family back to their two homes in Jalud, which settlers had seized weeks earlier, more than 100 settlers descended, set both homes on fire, blocked roads, burned tyres and threw stones at troops. The army said the return mission was not completed; witnesses said soldiers sent the family to the roof and then evacuated them, and local sources said forces protected the settlers. Two settlers were arrested and an investigation opened; Netanyahu condemned the violence.
