Methodology
Every incident is checked by a human reviewer before it is marked as verified. Incidents still being checked are shown as "awaiting review"; where sources contradict each other, we say so.
Locations are graded: exact (geolocated from the footage or confirmed by the cited source), approximate to a building, or approximate to a village. Exact locations explain how they were determined.
Footage is archived with a cryptographic fingerprint and a Wayback Machine copy, so it survives if the original post is taken down.
A person is named only when a credible source identifies them, and always with their level: named in reports, arrested, indicted, convicted or sanctioned. Every link between a person and an incident cites its source.
Each case is followed from complaint to verdict or closure, with dates and sources for every step.
