Settlers besiege Palestinian homes in Qusra for weeks

From Sunday 9 August 2026 settlers set up a tent outpost directly outside the Abu Ridi family home on the outskirts of Qusra, south of Nablus, blocked the road with rocks, cut water pipes and electricity lines and besieged two other homes; around 15 people, including children, were trapped. A Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance reached one house on 11 August to evacuate a girl needing treatment and deliver food. A neighbouring resident said settlers shot at her house and stoned it. On 12 August troops and Border Police removed the structures but left without removing the settlers; the army then took over a Palestinian home as a post and said it would discipline soldiers filmed praying with the settlers. Andrey X filmed soldiers alongside the settlers during the siege, and settlers were still roaming the area weeks later. The US ambassador called the besieging settlers 'Israeli terrorists'.
