From Sunday 19 July 2026 settler Hanan Herbst, of the Armonot Farm outpost, arrived with a bulldozer claiming to clear waste and went on to demolish or damage homes, alleys, orchards and gardens in Ein ad-Duyuk, Jericho, burying debris in pits. Residents said four homes were hit on the first day. Soldiers escorted him on every visit and kept activists away; state filings say the escort was approved by the Jordan Valley Brigade commander. Lawyer Tawfiq Jabareen petitioned Israel's High Court on 23 and 29 July.
