Overnight into 8 March 2026, dozens of settlers attacked homes in Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, and opened fire when confronted by a village guard committee, according to a resident. Cousins Thaer Hama'el, 24, and Fares Hama'el, 57, were shot dead and a third man, Mohammad Murra, died of suffocation, likely from tear gas. The IDF said its forces used only riot-dispersal means, Central Command chief Avi Bluth called the event unacceptable, and a criminal investigation was opened by police.
