On the evening of 17 January 2026 settlers raided the Bedouin hamlet of Khallet as-Sidra near Mukhmas, set fire to at least eight homes and two vehicles and assaulted Palestinians and activists. Two Palestinians and two foreign activists were hospitalised, according to the PA Jerusalem Governorate cited by the Times of Israel, and WAFA said settlers also fired guns. The community was later abandoned, and the X account says the army then blocked the road to the site.
