At about 3am on 13 August 2025, ten settlers in dark, military-style clothing with covered faces came down a hill without lights to the tents of a family in Khirbet al-Farisiya, northern Jordan Valley. They pepper-sprayed a young man in his bed, tried to strangle him with a metal chain and cut his leg with a sharp object; Mustafa Daraghmeh needed four stitches. When the family woke and resisted, the attackers fled back toward the outpost they came from. A few weeks earlier his father had been assaulted by settlers while herding and 17 of his sheep were stolen. Jordan Valley Solidarity says families in al-Farisiya face constant threats of eviction.
