On 20 June 2023 settlers erected an outpost in the centre of the Bedouin herding community of al-Baqa'a, east of Ramallah, and restricted its grazing and land access. On 7 July 2023 settlers set fire to a Palestinian home with two people inside; neighbours put out the fire and no one was hurt, but the house, home to six people, was destroyed. On 10 July seven households (36 people, two thirds of the community) dismantled their homes and left, and on 28 July the last two families left, leaving only the settlement where the community had stood. Residents told AP settlers also released sheep onto their grazing fields.
