Settler from Havat Yair shoots dead Palestinian man in Qarawat Bani Hassan

On the afternoon of 11 February 2023, a large group of armed settlers from the Havat Yair (Yair Farm) outpost confronted Palestinians doing construction work on the outskirts of Qarawat Bani Hassan. Stones were thrown and settlers opened fire; a settler shot 27-year-old Mithqal Rayan in the head at close range and he died at Salfit hospital. The army said soldiers arrived afterwards and fired riot dispersal means; Israeli police said they had opened an investigation.
