On 8 September 2022, about 20 settlers attacked Sinjil farmers and council members who were planting 100 olive saplings. The settlers used clubs, stones and pepper spray, breaking one man's arm and fracturing another's skull and rib. When soldiers arrived they fired tear gas at residents who came to help. The next day settlers stole all the saplings, and a second confrontation left further injuries.
