On 31 August 2022 Israeli settlers, reportedly from Yitzhar, stormed the Urif school while classes were in session and threw stones, forcing the administration to evacuate students. 250 students were affected and the school was damaged. According to the village council, Israeli forces were present but did not intervene, then fired tear gas at Palestinians who threw stones at the settlers.
